Here’s a few illustrations I have made the past years. Some are made without the use of a computer (from the time when a Quantel Paintbox was the coolest and most expensive toy you could have to make imagery), and some are created with either vector tools, bitmap shuffling apps or 3D-software.

Spark plug

Spark plug

This is an illustration of a spark plug that I 3D modelled in Cinema 4D. I then thought It would be fun to see what it would look lke if the model had different textures. Click on the thumbnail to see what a spark plug would look like in the shape of shiny chrome, fluffy carpet and transparent glass.

Illustration made in gouache with a paintbrush. The image was made in 1993 during my studies at Bournemouth & Poole College of Art & Design, and was a part of a lesson on how to paint shadows and stuff (the original image was a photograph in a skate magazine).

Illustrations made for a website that deals with sleeping disorders. The figures were to represent various types of Swedish people, and the illustrations were all drawn with the help of Macromedia Freehand.

A submission to swedish art magazine CAP & Design in their illustration competition 1995. Sources say that I ended up at 13th place. The 12 first chosen illustrations were printed on a calendar, distributed with the magazine. Close, but no cigar…

I made the illustration on the first Mac I bought – a Quadra 700 – with Photoshop 3.0 (no, not from the CS-suite) together with Strata Studio Blitz.

I was asked to retouch a photo of some fruits and leaves that needed to become more, shall we say… spicy? The image later got printed on a couple of millions packages of washing powder.

GUL

GUL

One day I was bored, recovering from the removal of my tonsils and thought to myself – hey, I should make an illustration. So I placed my watch next to my computer screen and started to draw. Later, Macromedia contacted me because they had seen the image and wanted to use it on the shipping version of Freehand 8. Unfortunately, they pulled the plug due to unknown reasons. Too bad.
